Ocean Basket Century City
I used the Uber eats app to purchase the “Calamari three ways” which comes with half rice and chips.
Delivery time was pathetic, the order eventually gets to me and the calamari is super cold and rubbery. No chips and no rice in the box.
I called the Ocean Basket Canal Walk and apparently spoke to someone who says he was the restaurant manager and all he could say was “how do you want me to solve this?” “I have to get back to you”
I made a simple request to have a full meal redelivered because of the poor quality of the calamari I received and I cannot wait for just chips and rice to be delivered after the fact.
The “manager” says I’m being uncooperative and that he cannot authorise by request. He took my number and said he will get back to me and guess what. Still an unsatisfied customer with no feedback received.
And did I mention that this cost R226 for old calamari that feels and tastes refried.
So the “manager” calls me back and all he can say is sorry. His remedy is to have me complain to Uber eats so that they can lodge a complaint or investigation to the restaurant in order for Uber eats to get back to me.
Going through a middle man when I was speaking to the restaurant directly.
I was looking forward to a delicious Saturday evening dinner and all I’m sitting with is inedible calamari without the sides. While a wait for a process to be followed so I can get some sort of feedback.
And all the “manager” has to say is “this is really unfortunate and that is the way we solve the problem and maybe if I visit the store we can see how to solve”
What is the point of ordering in then????
And please don’t send me an automated response saying that you would like the opportunity to rectify this and send me a link to input my contact details so you can contact me. Just solve the problem!!!
Also, I forgot to mention that the “manager” acknowledged the problem was on their side but still wants me to liaise with UberEats.
Ridiculous!!!
