Ocean Basket Bedford Village Manager is an idiot.

The Manager of the Bedford Village branch has absolutely no people s****s. I have had an issue with him before and last night was just a reminder of what an idiot he actually is. My son and daughter in law often frequent the ocean basket in Midrand and love the service and the food. For her birthday I offered to take them for dinner and she chose Ocean Basket. We chose to go to Bedford as it's closer to me. Firstly they love the bread that is served. They served us a basket of bread the same quantity for a table of five as a table of one or two. The slices were so tiny that it wasn't even worth buttering. When my son asked for more bread he was flatly refused. Ok so we complain and move on. We ordered two platters for 2 and one fish and prawn Combo. The food arrives but the waiter has not yet cleared the table so there is no space to put the food. He puts our food on another table while he piles all the dirty dishes in front of our guest. He places the food on the table, leaves the dirty dishes and goes back for the other platter. He brings that platter with no serving s****. All this time our guests combo is standing on the table behind us waiting to be served. Needless to say all the food was cold. We had ordered extra sauce which did not arrive. We still didn't have a serving s****. I was willing to eat the cold food until I bit into a muscle which was raw. We called the waiter to ask him to call the manager. He refused to come to our table and only came 15 minutes later when my husband and son stood up and caused a scene. Hi first reaction to our complaint was that we were only complaining in retaliation to him not serving more bread. His second response was that he was not responsible for the food being cold as he does not stick his fingers in the food to check if it is cold. The complaint about the raw muscles was met with the same lack of remorse or responsibility. According to him he has no way of knowing if the food is cooked properly or is cold and therefore should not be accountable. He is an idiot and stands at your table like a galoomph with no brains. Not an iota of people s****s or any will to solve the problem and try and keep the customer. As for the waiter, not much in the way of pleasantries or people s****s or training. We walked out and went next door to Rocco Mammas which luckily salvaged our evening. My enjoyment of Ocean Basket has been ruined and I doubt I will be back.
