Nothing like bad service as the end result is NOTHING

<p>We have just returned from a holiday in Kwazulu Natal Midlands. On the 27th December my wife and I took a drive down to our old home town, Durban. However, our attempt to get a meal at the Ocean Basket in Beachway was an incredibly unfortunate experience. We arrived at the restuarant at about 13h30. Other than a very large table, it was half full. We ordered Ocean Baskets famous fish and chips, a water and a Rock Shandy. The drinks arrived and then we waited...and waited...and waited. I finished my Rock Sandy and ordered another and inquired about the progress of our meal. The reply was that there was a big table, but our meal would come soon. One has to ask the question - how long does it take to cook a piece of hake? Our experience at the Ocean Basket in Creasta, which as the time had more customers, although not a large table, was about 15 minutes. At Beachway it obviously takes a lot longer - maybe Jamie Oliver is their cook. At 14h51, we gave up and proceeded to walk out. To add insult to injury, the manager insisted we pay for our drinks. We paid, althought the price of two rock shandy's and 1 bottle of water was iniqutious - R70 for the pleasure of waiting for nothing.</p>
