A fish or an egg

We were there for lunch with my husband today. We both ordered the platters for R99 I can't recall the name of the meal but it had calamaris, prawns, rice, chips and two pieces of fish. I don't know what is wrong with the fish that we were served. It tasted more like an egg than a fish. We have never tasted anything like it before, we ended up throwing it away because it was slippery and it did not taste the fish we are used to. Thank
