Unrendered Tax Services

Our newly registered company required a VAT registration and Customs number.

We approached O.C. Financial Services Inc., represented by Carolyn / Caroline (don't know if that is her real name), to perform the registrations on our behalf.

We chose to go with O.C. Financial Services Inc (email address ***), solely due to the promise that they'll be able to register our company within 2 business days. The reduced lead-time obviously came at a premium cost which we were willing to pay. Funds also needed to be paid upfront before any work could begin (never doing that again).

Needless to say, its been 115 days, and we are not a day closer to being registered for VAT or Customs.

Very poor communication from their side, mostly Whatsapp, unprofessional, and honestly, no experts of the trade whatsoever. Don't waste your time or money.

Common excuses: * SARS system is down * I'm following up and will get back to - she never does come back to you as promised * I'm out of office, there was ***** on my account and they cleaned out my account, spent entire week at the bank to resolve the issue * Daughter was in an accident * Have been off sick * Out of office *I'm at a client / busy with an audit, will get back to you * Attending a conference, will get back to you, will follow up in the interim * The VAT application has been approved, SARS just needs to allocate a VAT number * The VAT registration has been moved from the general pool to a specific person * I promise you, two business days / this week / early next week......you'll be registered

Cancelled their services recently due to unrendered services, after allowing for ample time and appreciating the "challenges" they faced for 115 days - we could've been registered by now if we just followed the normal route and did it ourselves.

Requested a credit note and refund, as this is going nowhere.

I have no doubt that we'll never get registered by their means, nor will we ever receive a refund of the monies paid for undelivered services.

My mistake was relying on a persons word and not researching the company thoroughly (google, references, etc). You'll find nothing on this company and persons online hence my review to prevent anyone else stepping in the same trap as we did.
