Written off not paid in full

I'm mad that I thought had comprehensive car insurance but that changed because of the time of my accident and now I have to pay my bank R36000 to settle my car. After I've been with this insurance campany for years and this wasn't discussed with me when I was taking out my insurance cover.....where am I suppose to get R36000 that the banks needs right now.....what is time of the accident have to do with my comprehensive cover that I had
