********* treatment from Oakhurst insurance
On the 19th May 2020 as I entered the parking at a shopping complex, the driver of a car that was in the next parking hit me with his car door. It damaged my my left fender and my left door. The gentleman apologised and admitted to being the one who was negligent as he had not checked if there wasn't any car parked next to him.
He said he would go to the police station and do a accident report and he then gave me his insurance details, his contact numbers and that of his insurance company. The gentleman told me I would need to have 3 quotes and submit to his insurance and the matter would be sorted. I went to the police station before the guy and put in my report. He later went to the police station and he was given my report to read and confirm or contest. The gentleman agreed that what I had written on the report was exactly what had occured and did not contest it, he signed on it as well.
When I called his insurance I was told that he had not reported it yet and I would not be able to log the 3rd party claim. The following day the guy had reported with his insurance.
I received a missed call from the insurance and when I called back I was told I need to pay for the damages I had caused to his car. I explained what had occured but the lady on the other side told me I had no proof. I asked her what the guy said and I was told he had told them I was the one who was wrong, contrary to what was in the accident report. I later found out that the guy never said what I was being told. The lady said she would call back.
After a few days I was called by a different lady from the insurance and was instructed to open a 3rd party claim on my insurance and that I will have to pay for the other guys damage. I did not submit the claim, I waited for the first lady who had called to call back as she had said she would. A week after the lady finally called back now coming with a different story that the guy said he is willing to pay 50% of the damages. I told the lady that the guy admitted to being in the wrong and told me his insurance would pay, It was at this moment that I realised she had not opened the accident report all along, she argued with me until I asked her to read it. She read it and out of surprise of what was written there she said let me call you back. I waited and waited and another week passed.
The lady called again but this time she was telling me the costs of the other guys damages and asked me when I would be paying. I told her that she had said she would call back days back and had not. I told her I would not pay the money and that the guy, their client, had told them that he damaged my car. The lady said the guy denied it.
I asked her to hold and I called the guy, their client, and told him I got his insurer on the line and they are saying he is denying everything. The guy had no problem being on the conference call so I connected him. The guy told the lady that he signed my accident report and did no contest it because what I had written in it was exactly what had occured. In the conversation it came up that when they guy was called by Rachel the lady from the insurance he told her that he had damaged my car, and the lady told him it could have been his fault I would also have been in the wrong. I asked if he agreed to paying 50% and this was news to him and the lady started shouting at him. The guy asked to end the call as he had confirmed that they have been lying to me. I asked the lady not to call me but rather e mail as she kept changing her story, I also asked her to get her supervisor to call me. Today is the 4th of July and my car is still not fixed and nobody ever contacted me again from Oakhurst insurance.
Just to add, aftet the guy had been to the police station and signed on my accident report he send me his insurance policy details, the policy number, policy holder and the contact number. I have asked their insurance why would he have given these things to me if I was the one who had damaged his car, and I was shouted at. I had even been told to get evidence by the lady from Oakhurst implying that I was lying. Their client is not denying that he caused the damage and when he reported it Rachel changed the story and even then the guy said he was not contesting my statement and what was there is what had occured.
