The mendacity of Oakhurst Insurance Company

Oakhurst declined my vehicle claim, and stated that i was driving above the speed limit at the time of the accident.

I did not have any tracking device installed on the vehicle at the time. I then asked them how they retrieved the speed of travel?

They claimed that F-series BMW comes standard, fitted with a device that records second-by-second data from the date of first ignition and that it was this device that recorded the speed.

I made contact with BMW SA (Pty) Ltd, the manufacturer of the subject vehicle, to confirm if this is indeed true.

BMW sent me an official letter stating that such as device DOES NOT EXIST.

Sent the letter to Oakhurst and all of a sudden the claim was approved for payment? *Shocked*

Be very careful of Oakhurst, and all the related companies...DOTsure, Tru-Trade etc....
