Terrible Insurance

This is a terrible insurance company. After five years of being with them , their service has been terrible. They first changed the policy from Platinum to Gold without my mother's approval. Then increase the premiums every year without out reviewing the car. Then comes claiming time. My mother was involved in a car accident in Nelspruit on the 2 September 2018, they take the car and want to leave her ( And the rest of the family) at the scene of the accident. I had to scream from Gauteng to make sure that the family gets back home safely. Then they decline her claim based on what they have changed the policy from Platinum to Gold without her approval then they expect her to pay for towing the car. The car is still with them, this is frustrating big time and they are terrible we are still waiting to get the issue sorted. No communication from them, we have to constantly keep calling them. Please stay away from Oakhurst. :(

Dear Mogkoatse

Upon receipt of your complaint on Hello Peter. We investigated the claim in question in relations to the terms and conditions of your mother’s policy.

We established that:

You were nominated as the Power of attorney on the policy. The policy holder Ms. TA Kganane was involved in an accident on 02 September 2018. The incident was detected from the tracking unite fitted on the insured vehicle and towing assistance was dispatched . At the scene of the accident the service provider was not aware of the Gold Club Benefit that Ms. TA Kganane has until such time that this was mentioned to them. The vehicle was towed to a repairer where damages relating to the accident were quoted/assessed. The claim process was followed accordingly in line with the terms and conditions of the policy. It was established that Ms. TA Kganane opted for a nominated driver policy where she was noted as a regular driver and yourself as the nominated driver. The driver at the time of the accident (Ms. Ditshego Ncube) was not nominated on the policy and as such, enjoyed no cover.

We confirm that Ms. TA Kganane is still a Gold Club Member and her benefits are still in place. She has never been moved from Platinum to Gold as alleged.

Trust the above is in order.

Regards,
