****** and anti-transformation service
TAXO*** - 00001 Oarkhurst/dotsure should be probed for its anti-transformation agenda and client profiling in their service. In 2017 I switched from reputable Khusela Taxi Insurance to Oarkhurst Insurance due to the persuasive nature of the sales agent. As a budding business person always looking for improved deals I agreed to insure my taxi with Oarkhurst Insurance as they promised me heaven and earth. I did not know that by doing so against advice by my peers in the taxi industry I was committing suicide. I received a written contract which stipulated the obvious terms and conditions in as far as taxi insurance is concerned except where they stressed that my taxi should be fitted with a tracking device from Netstar. Upon reading the contract I promptly reverted back to them to conscientise them about the issue of a tracking device already installed by Bidtrack in my vehicle. That part seemed to have been understood and i carried on paying premiums without fail. Fast forward 2020 November 05, my taxi was involved in a serious accident whilst on business. That was the start of the nightmare when I lodged a claim. Apart from the normal claim requirements like AR, Drivers License, Operating card and Roadworthy certificate, they required me to produce a proof of premium payments, vehicle inspection report, trip itinerary, confirmation of geographical location where the accident happened, etc. Bidtrack provided them with proof that the taxi was indeed fitted with tracking device (of which I had disclosed to them) and the accompanying trip itinerary. They appointed an assessor, who blatantly told me that my car was a write off and when I asked what criteria were they using to arrive at such decision, he told me that such information is confidential. They subsequently appointed an investigator (a white man) who i believe was tasked to ensure that my claim failed at all costs. I cooperated with investigations even my driver did the same. I went as far as providing more information on the geography and real time of the accident. The claim process took them at least 3 and half weeks to process. On the 3rd of December, they sent a Letter stating that my claim was rejected. I appealed and a guy named Jaylin was tasked to handle my appeal. Despite promising me that he (Jaylin), was available at all times should I need to contact him on anything regarding my appeal, he was nowhere to be found. On the 7th of December, Jaylin e-mailed me a letter confirming that their claim rejection decision stood even thoughthe Taxi was fitted with a tracking device, the tracker did not meet their claim terms and conditions since they could not verify the time and speed of the car during the accident. I ask them to return my taxi in the condition at the time of the accident and they arrogantly stressed that they won't do such. I asked for my premiums back as a compensation for their sales agent misrepresentation of facts but they said pompusly that they wont do that since the contract was water tight on Netstar Tracking device. They produced some recordings which to my surprise confirm my testimony that their sales agent and portfolio manager were alerted of the tracking device contract and arrangement in my taxi. The details about their tracking terms and conditions came to the fore as they were refuting my claim. In all honesty I felt like being a black man and a budding business man in the industry associated with black majority became a factor in the handling and subsequent rejection of my claim. With this company, BLACK CHILD you are on your own. I REGRET THE DAY I LEFT TRIED AND TESTED KHUSELA TAXI INSURANCE TO JOIN THIS **** OF INSURANCE. I AM TAKING THE MATTER VERY SERIOUS AS I AM IN CONTACT WITH MY TAXI ASSOCIATION AND THE LAWYERS ON THE WAY FORWARD.
