R25 000 excess and Declined Claims is all you get from Oakhurst Insurance.
While avoiding an accident on March the 1st I drove into the pavement bending the vehicle’s front right control arm, both front rims and tyres were badly damaged and the wheel alignment ruined. Un lable to drive away, I called the emergency roadside assist and two hours later my vehicle was Towed away. The following day I made my first claim with Oakhurst insurance since insuring my Taxify vehicle with them over 14 months ago. I was requested to submit by email copies of my 2019 double Disc, my PDP and an operators license from the transport department. I submitted the first two documents which I listed except for the operating license from the transport department (this document takes a long process to get) For not being able to submit this document I was charged an additional access fee of R20 000 on top of my R5000 access. After my vehicle was kept for 6 days without getting a quotation for the damage, I decided to cancel the claim and fetched my vehicle and had it fixed. I made this decision because I drive this vehicle to earn an income. I then made two new claims with Oakhurst insurance, One for Minor Scraches and dents, which was declined on the basis that the quotation I sent was two high. The second claim for Rims and Tyres was also declined on the basis that I claimed more than 5days after the accident. Mind you my vehicle had been keep for 5days without any feedback as to how much damage it had sustained.
