Oakhurst REINSTATES old debit orders!
I took out insurance with Oakhurst George 2014. I cancelled the insurance in 2018 because they always had every reason to not give me the discount for good driving behaviour - despite my utter intentions to drive well. When I cancelled in May 2018 I received written confirmation that it is cancelled. Then in December they start sneaking in double debit orders in the hope that I won't notice it, with a description totally incomprehensible. Now they blame Netstar for re-instating the debit order. Not true!

We refer to your Hello Peter complaint dated 23 January 2019 regarding further debit orders after the policy was cancelled.
We refer to your Hello Peter complaint dated 23 January 2019 regarding further debit orders after the policy was cancelled.
Upon investigation of your complaint, it was established that you had a Netstar contract that is independent of your Oakhurst Comprehensive Policy contract.
The terms and conditions were advised and agreed to telephonically and the copy of the policy was sent to you. It was stated as a condition of your contract that you are on a 36-month contract with Altech Netstar which will assist with vehicle monitoring and tracking. The cost of the fitment and the monthly subscription is included in your monthly premium. Should you cancel your policy with Oakhurst Insurance, you will however be liable to continue paying Altech Netstar for the applicable monthly subscription fee which is subject to a 36-month contract.
We confirm that you elected to cancel your Oakhurst Comprehensive policy, which led to the premiums related to the Netstar tracking unit being debited by Altech Netstar for the remainder of the contract you entered into with them.
Regrettably, in light of the above we cannot fault the insurer herein.
