Oakhurst Insurance Is the Worst Insurance Company that must be exposed
I am having the most horrible experience with this insurance company.
I have been a loyal client with no premium unmets since I bought my current car in 2013 a Toyota Corrola 1.3 2011 Model. I have not had any incidents nor claim.
I had another car drive into me a month ago and I followed all protocols, from logging a case with the SAPS, acquiring the other driver information, alerting my insurer (Oakhurst insurance) and getting quotes from their approved repair shop in Isando while I am based in Sandton during office hours and Soweto after hours/weekends.
The quote was R19 940.00 and suddenly I was told that my excess R2 500.00 had a further R15 000 excess which equates to R17 500.00.
I requested for a recording where I agreed to pay/donate R15 000.00 excess and they sent me the recording in a m3u attachment ****erally a link to access the recording). I attemped to listen to the recording a multiple time without success. I contacted them requesting that they send it in a usable format since the 12th March 2018 to date. They are adamant that it is possible - even my company IT DEPARTMENT is not able to listen to the recording.
I am frustrated by my own insurer - I would not recommend that anyone use this fly by night insurance company. I regret my interaction with them.
After this matter is resolved I am seriously considering cancelling my policy with them and further using every possible avenue to discredit them. I will go to the extreme of paying for an advert in the newspaper to publish my story - people must know that this is a very bad company to be associated with.
I am seriously concerned as to why a Toyota Dealership in Lenasia would recommend this insurance company.

Dear Nelisiwe
We confirm that your excess structure was explained to you and agreed upon during the underwriting of your policy. The consultant clearly asked if you understand and accept your excesses, and the response you gave her was: ‘Yes I do”.
We would like to clarify that audio recordings formats can be changed on your computer so the audio can take to the format specifications that your computer is set out for. However, we have changed the format to an MP3 audio and sent it again.
We further confirm that the settlement offer was agreed upon and paid into your account in full and final settlement of the claim.
