20 February 2019, I reported an incident that occurred on 20 February 2019 involving my vehicle, 2011 Hyundai i30. I hit a pothole, resulting to my vehicle being not drivable. I informed my insurer the same day (on a recorded line stating that I hit a pothole) and my vehicle was taken to RF Panel Beater (PB)., I then followed up with the insurer. I was the one that had to follow constantly and continuously even I have a broker agent - named "Nomaxabiso Mabukane" she did nothing to assist in my claim nor complain. I received feedback being advise that my claim is within excess of 1510.96 (New L/F BALL JOINT 1) and other damages amounted to R 45 505.95. I communicated PB to find out if it is possible for him to fixed the vehicle as my excess is R1500. The PB advise that it is not possible to just fixed the L/F BALL JOINT as there are other parts that will required. The PB opted to send a second quotation focusing only on the damages that were caused by the incident of the 20th Feb, this time it amounted to R 25 405.24 - this is after a full month of me following up with them (both quotation attached). After much complaining and follow ups with the complaints, verification, claims and assessor department I received feedback o the 3rd April now stating that my claim has been rejected due to NO COVER: POTHOLE DAMAGE, two months after I registered a claim no one told me that I am not covered even though I had already stated on a recorded line that I am claiming for pothole related incident. Currently my vehicle is at the PB still not touched and still not drivable. I have been advised that PB storage will be covered, that is confusing for me as that storage cost will amount to thousands of rand but my claim has been rejected – WHY?...Why did it take them 2months to tell me that I am not covered. Even after I had continuously complained and spoke to the assessor that told me “I am doing you a favour by approving your claim” Assessor’s name is Hendrick. Today (3rd April 2018) I spoke to the PB he stated that he still cannot fix my vehicle as the cost is too much and I must continue fighting my insurer to cover the cost.
