MISREPRESENTATION OF CONTRACT AND DECLINED CLAIM
On the 06 July 2015 my car broke down, I called Oakhurst insurance. They (Oakhurst insurance) organized a tow truck (Aubs break down) to take it to Ronnie's Motors in Beacon Bay, in EL... I got the quote that the damages will cost R11 949.64. I filed a claim to Oakhurst insurance, I waited for 6 days for the assessor to assess the damages.. Only to get told by the claims department that my claim (R11 949.64 is declined, because it less than the minimum excess money of R17 000 they (Oakhurst insurance) say I agreed to pay. Which I never did.. I never agreed on a voluntary excess R15 000. I got the Comprehensive vehicle cover in December 2012, everything was done telephonically and I have the recordings. It was my first car insurance policy.... I have been paying a premium of R1015.00 since January 2012 and I have never missed payment...I have received good service till they (Oakhurst insurance) had to pay..Now that I know how this company goes about their business, I will make sure that no one else get ********** as I did or go through what I did. We would rather pay a little extra than to deal with Oakhurst insurance company that can't help when we need the help...DISSAPOINTING!!
