claim rejected
After I have emailed you once again Janine gave me a call to inform me I need to pay additional excess of R3000 and the Assessor claims my damage to my vehicle is R4415.05, 1. The parts only at Barons costs 3022.20 this is besides labour and spraying how in heavens name can my damage be R4415.05- I have attached quote 2. I have obtained another quote which is over R6000 once again how in heavens does the assessor get to the amount of R4415.05- I have attached 3. Dalmar contacted me to bring in my car but yet the claim was finalised this does not make sense to me at all 4. Where does the assessor get the parts price on the quote . GUMTREE???????this is absurd I suggest the assessor do a proper assessment and not a mickey mouse assessment as this is my car and I place a lot of pride into my car ! After everything yet you tell me that you will not fix my vehicle because it is within excess after I have voiced my opinion why I was not given an option for an excess booster ! What concerns me the most is the claim was finalized after which both the claims and customer service knew I informed them why is it they are going ahead with the finalization if they knew my complaint about the additional excess was still in process , 1.A decision cant be made if the additional excess complaint was not finalized . 2.The communication between Oakhurst and AA seem as broken sound communication due to me being the middle person explaining back and forth about me still being in the process of my complaint and I have ask Melanie to please inform whom ever to contacted me not to do so due to the complaint not being finalized I have also spoken to Janine and I have asked her the management need to contact me as I was not satisfied with the additional excess on my policy and a decision was already made without my complaint being adhered to, to date I have not heard from Benita the manager which Janine said she would call me , she called me somehow no back ground was shared until I have explained to her I am not comfortable to go ahead with any conversation ,why does the client have to explain to each consultant what the frustration is this is unheard off surely you have a system of a note to be made on clients profile about theses type of complaints or claim still in process referring to complaint not being finalized. My experience with both AA and Oakhurst have been nothing but stressful especially finding myself claiming for the first time on my car.
All I asked was to waive my additional excess due to not providing me with the excess booster option, why now only after I have sent an email to you only then my calls will be listened too after I have asked Melanie to request to listen to calls as for the excess booster because it was not given to me as an option as well as the settlement cash payout and yet my insurance company still made a decision on my claim this is unacceptable . According to me this complaint had to be lodge at your department before the claim was finalized not only will this negatively effect my short term insurance record but you have neglected me as your devoted client for over 2 years of which I did not skip a premium for the duration of being with AA ,emphasis on I was never informed about the options applicable on my policy why ?????I would never have endured this extra cost if I knew I had an option for the excess booster , this insurance company failed me and I seek to find better customer service else where even if I pay a very high premium , and that I find it very disappointing and not treating the customer fairly due to a lack of option range for client which I was not informed off.
I Trust you will find the above the best possible solution as to waive my additional excess seeing that I was not offered the excess booster and the settlement option.

We refer to your email dated 07 May 2019 and the complaint logged on Hello Peter dated 14 May 2019, the contents of which have been noted.
We apologise for any inconvenient that this may have caused.
You had a claim for an accident that occurred on 23 April 2019 under your AA Combined Personal Product Policy and it fell within the applicable excess. The assessed repair amount was found to be less than the applicable excess (the first amount payable by you in an event of a valid claim).
The policy wording read with the policy schedule contains the contract between you and the insurer. We confirm that all endorsed policy documents were e-mailed to you and your excess structure is stated therein, which same was applicable to your claim.
Further, the Excess Booster you referred to in your complaint is an after sales option which is sold separately as an Excess Buster Policy. The main purpose of the policy is to assist the insured in a form of a payment towards the total excess he/she is responsible for, in the event of a valid claim, subject to the terms and conditions of the policy. Kindly note that one of the conditions of this product is that the total claim amount must be more than the applicable excess for it to respond.
We trust you find the above in order.
