Claim for glass replacement not attended to timeously

I reported the broken glass in my vehicle on Monday morning. Tuesday morning I phoned and was told I need to register the claim which I did on Monday. Apparently the claim was incorrectly captured (I have not had one dealing with Oakhurst go smoothly) Wednesday morning I phoned again and was told to register the claim. Needless to say I was rather rude. When I phoned on Thursday I was told again to register the claim which I refused to do. I am still waiting for some response from Oakhurst.

In a previous claim Oakhurst managed to not repair my vehicle properly. I have taken that to the Ombudsman and Consumer Council. Looks like nothing has changed. Time to move my business elsewhere.

After making numerous calls today I finally get the claim approved but with PG Glass (Oakhurst approved supplier - Mmmmm) who is R1785.00 more expensive on a R4190.00 claim. Makes you think, doesn't it?

Dear Donald

We hereby wish to apologise for the delay in processing your claim. The error was rectified and your vehicle was repaired.

With regard to your comment pertaining to the amount charged, the initial quotation did not include built in heating for de-misting and the green tint that the original glass had.

We trust that this matter has been resolved to your satisfaction now.

Regards
