Car accident...written off, insurance refuse to pay

My husband was involved in an accident driving my car of which he was covered too....the accident was reported, the towtruck was send by the said insurance...The insurance company assessed the car and wrote it off..they then asked for the accident report of which my husband drove to the Police Station where the accident was reported and send it to them...they then asked if that was the first accident that he was involved in while driving....and he told them that it was he 2nd accident...then they asked how the claim was handled in the first incident...he told them and they promised to come back, but when they came back they said my husband must ask for the claim report from the insurance that he had insured his car with because they asked for it from that insurance but they refused..still waiting for them to pay up,we were told that they won't paying anything and the money we paid for those months was returned and the car is now here with us,they said that won't pay because we didn't tell them about the first accident

Hello Jimy Mosima,

Upon the verification of your claim it came to light that the regular driver had a previous accident that was not disclosed to us during the sign-up of this policy. When the consultant asked about the regular driver's previous accident you only disclosed that he had one accident, this was inaccurate as it came to light during the verification of the claim that there was another accident that was not disclosed. This material non-disclosure led to the insurer voiding the policy from inception because we would not have accepted the risk had all the losses/claims been disclosed to us.

Kind regards
The Oakhurst Team
