Bad service

I was in a car accident in April and I did a claim with oakhurst insurance as I had an insurance with them and they ended up writting off my car and I was not happy with that as they did the decision on their side as Bukeka said they did a decision because I never get back to them within 2 days of which is not true cause I was calling her but not getting hold of her I was leaving my details as they were saying she will call me back. In May the 3rd party insurance contacted me as they wanted to do the claim with them and I explained to the guy that phoned me that my car was written off and I ended up not claiming from them as he said he need to contact oakhurst first. At the end of May i had a call from oakhurst and the lady that contacted me she said she wanted to advise me that the debit order for May will go off from my account, the 3rd party insurance will pay as well and the is an extra amount they will refund me but for now they still having discussions with them she will get back to me ,that was May but I still never get a call from them every time If I call them they always tell me to leave my details they will get back to me but they don't and I call the guy from 3rd party insurance and he said I must call oakhurst. Every month the debit order is still going through from my account . Claim no M ********** -ACC0, POLICY NO ELIA ********** . I really need to know what if happening and insurances must keep their promises. I am really tired of oakhurst with their service.

Dear Mr Mzolo

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience suffered.

As per the telephonic conversation that you had with Vuyisile Ndhlovu the vehicle was deemed to be a write-off because it was uneconomical to repair. This means that the cost of having the vehicle repaired was too high, on this particular claim the cost of repairing the vehicle was 83% of the insured vehicle's market value. This was unfortunately above what the insurer can pay to have the vehicle repaired and as a result the vehicle was deemed to be a write-off.

We confirm that your claim file is currently with our recoveries department. We have already instituted a recovery against the third party's insurance. We will request the recoveries consultant to give you a call in order to give you the full progress of the recovery process.

You may also contact Vuyisile Ndhlovu should you have any other queries.

Kind regards
