Refunds due to unexpected escalation of Price

My Family and I have been saving up money throughout the entire year so we can go on holiday in December and the destination that we choose was Mozambique.

We were then refereed to Nyathi Mozambique tourism, we then visited his Facebook page where he advertised the trip for R2950.00 per person for 3 nights. We then paid him a deposit for 9 people based on these rates.

After having paid the deposit Mr Nyathi came back to us saying that the trip will now cost R5000.00 per person instead of R 2950.00 due to the fact that we want to travel during pick season, and this was never communicated to anyone neither his adverti*****ts make state of such. We then asked to be refunded our deposit back as we can not afford R5000.00 per person due to our lack of funds. Mr Nyathi is now refusing to refund us our deposit saying that he has Terms & Conditions(T&C) and he has also payed deposit for our accommodation, which doesn't make sense since these T&C's were never communicated to anyone and how could he pay deposit on our behalf knowing that we paying him R2950.00 for the trip while he claims to expect R5000.00.
