NWU North West University

As a former student of the NWU I write this review on views of a student whom have obtained her qualification with a distinction.

What a absolute disgrace our graduation was on the 20th of April (10:00am)

First of all the whole graduation session was 1 hour and 10 minutes late. No problem at all yet.

We were not allowed our phones, but the Dean's phone rang and his comment was "oh my phone wants to speak to me." Still okay...

The faculty whom have sat behind the Dean was unprofessional and sat on their phones during the session. (Now this is absurd and really unprofessional, but still I will not argue the fact that this is not the worse yet.)

I am the first of my family to obtain a degree and go to a university, and what saddens me most is the way my parents was treated. They had to sat OUTSIDE on the amphi-theater, you know why this makes me so sad? The fact that my father paid on time each time and he worked VERY hard for me to have this opportunity, and all of this just to watch his daughter to walk over a stage in the audiotorium and for them to sit on a cement amphi-theater to watch it on a ****** TV screen.

The NWU took away something that had to be special, and made a complete joke about how they feel about people's money and student's hard work.

I guess I will continue my studies further, but not at the NWU as for they do not have any humanity.

I was so ashamed to be a student on the 20th of April and I felt so embarrassed for my old parents to sit on the amphi-theater.

I hope by this review that justice will be served and that people will see just how they treat their loyal paying parents and hard working students.

I will take to do my honours at a different institution.

An absolute disgrace

Dear Amika

I am sorry to hear about your experience and the complaint is viewed in a serious light. Thank you for bringing it to our attention. The matter will be brought to the attention of the deputy registrar for his further handling. Our graduands are very important to us and we want to maintain a special relationship with them.

Regards
Louis Jacobs, Director: Corporate Communication.

I appreciate your concern Sir.

Just for the record the word that has been blurred our reads (b l o o d y) it might seem like something more outrageous because it has been blurred out. Just for the record.

I will await a further response from the NWU.

Thank You
