NWU continues to fail me
I have lost hope in the service at the North West University (Potchestroom Campus). After registering me a semester late, now am struggling to get ahold of them so I can deregister 1 module. I was registered for Afrikaans instead of English. I contacted a lady called Megan Swartz and she told me that I need to complete that module in order for me to obtain my degree. How do I complete a module in a language I am not even fami**** with. Can someone kindly assist.

All students enrolled for the BEd degree need to have 3 languages according to the rules and regulations of this programme. Currently you are a first year BEd Intermediate Phase student. When you registered for this programme, your Grade 12 Certificate indicated that your languages are Tswana and English. This implies that your conversational language is Afrikaans in the case of your programme. The reason that you can not be registered for English as a conversational language is because of your languages indicated on your Grade 12 Certificate as mentioned. In your second year you will have English as your first additional language. Your conversational language is therefore Afrikaans and you need to complete this module in order to complete the qualification. The module on Afrikaans should be done in your first year in the second semester. The module for Afrikaans is a semester module (taken for six months) and is basic Afrikaans.
