Lack of Administrative support & incompetence

My personal experience with the North West University's online program has been a nightmare of administrative incompetence and a complete lack of effective communication, directly impacting my academic progress.

Firstly, I initiated a credit transfer for two modules on the 10th of February. What followed was a frustrating and time-wasting ordeal involving over 20 emails and three student help desk tickets. Each inquiry was met with redirection to different, often unresponsive, email addresses. One recommended address is even listed on their website, despite being inactive. This demonstrates a shocking disregard for maintaining accurate and functional communication channels.

The result? My credit transfer is stalled. For one module, approval is pending from an “executive dean” whose identity and contact details remain a mystery. For the other, no one seems capable or willing to provide assistance. Furthermore, all my help desk tickets were marked “resolved” without any actual resolution or communication.

This administrative chaos has placed me in an impossible situation. Assignment and test deadlines are looming, and I am forced to choose between completing coursework for potentially credited modules or risking failure. This is unacceptable and directly hinders my ability to succeed academically.

Secondly, I attempted to apply to add a module to my course work. A module that was OUTSIDE of the yearbook required modules for my degree. Despite including this information in the numerous emails I sent (and 'help-desk tickets' I submitted), I was met with the same response - "Please submit a ticket to the help-desk" or "You just need to add it via the registration portal". Again, this was not possible as the module was not listed as an option. Then, once registration had closed, I received a response stating that I was too late and I should have requested it before registration closed. I sent the first request on the 10th of Feb and registration closed on the 31st of March.

The lack of clear processes and the inability of administrative staff to provide consistent, accurate information is a serious concern. While the lecturers and course itself has been great, the lack of support from the administration as a whole is deeply concerning and WILL impact a students ability to complete their degree in a timely and stress-free manner.
