Fed up with the Potchefstroom psychology dept.

As a parent I was not going to say anything because my daughter asked me not to say anything because she was afraid she would be targeted but I think I have had enough of the psychology department at NWU Potchefstroom. This is entire year has been hell and of course a masters year is tough but when it is being made even tougher by the main lecturer and the coordinator of the programme that is where my problem is. Throughout the year every time I spoke to my daughter this year she complained about the same person who at this point was verbally and mentally abusing them, with threats, degrading words and an attitude to boot. When my daughter and her other classmates decided to let him know how this makes them feel he decided to take a step back from that one subject even though he has many others with them, instead of changing the way he speaks to them and approaches lessons he decided that he will step back from that one subject. The other thing that really has me beside myself with anger is the fact that they have not had a lecturer for their psychometrix since the one week in the first semester and for the rest of the year they have had past students come in to give classes that have been no help, my daughter tells me that they have been failing all tests and assignments and nothing has been done to rectify this issue. When they did not obtain enough marks to qualify for the exam this lecturer and a intern who is only one year ahead of my daughter and her classmates decided to have them do a presentation for them that was very vague, vague enough that the lecturer states to them that its not what he asked of them as I am told he often does. This particular subject has a study guidebook that says that they need 50% in their final exam to pass, so why does my daughter have to rewrite an exam that she got a mark in the 50’s for because suddenly that was an error and 55% is needed for a subject that they have been struggling with and had to fight to even get 50%. Why was this error even left to the last minute? Even with the year over they still continue to be toyed with and abused.The girls have even complain to the health professions counsel, I have had enough, my son and I are now in contact with the Department of Higher Education and Training because this has been happening for years now with previous students crying and complaining and absolutely nothing being done. Maybe if we have the DHET and social media involved something might be done.
