Nutec mayhem Niel Meiring
Niel Meiring's business is nothing other than a ponzie scheme disguised as a Nutec construction company. He applies one customer's deposits and payments to get another off his back. He left us with a shell after we refused any further payments untill it could be justified. His workmanship is not to regulatory standard as the structural engineer pointed out verious structural issues. At first he comes accross very polite and professional, but once his **** is revealed, he dissapears leaving you with a mess to repair and clean up. Niel is seasoned in making promises and commitments, only to deliver one of his thousand excuses. Once your deposit is paid, his team will start off without hesitation. Soon afterwards he'll ask for another withdrawal afterwhich Niel Meiring will not be seen or heard from in person again. One or two guys will continue to pitch up for a hour or two to do small tasks ad hoc, in the hope that you will quite down or pay again. As soon as you confront him, he plays the victim and walks away
- I did not submit plans for the structure initially and Niel was happy to proceed without it.
- The sizes and spacing of material Niel used is not in accordance with building regulation. The building inspector therefore instructed him to correct it.
- The structure had to be broken down partly and slightly modified to comply. It consisted out of a subfloor structure and one interior wall as well as four outer walls which were cladded. No roof. I removed all the cladding and broke down the walls myself one Saturday afternoon.
- The modified structure was 4 sqm smaler, but Niel was still paid an additional R15000 to replace the subfloor and to conpensate for additional labor and material needed.
- I took over the project once Niel abondoned it. His workmanship is absolutely shocking.
- Niel had no interest in erecting the building. His absense from the site is testimony.
- Last time I checked, another victim of his was still staying in a caravan in Pringle Bay after the house's roof, which he obviously built for her, was blown off by the wind. I suspect the reason to be that mentioned in par.2 above.
- His staff constantly complained that they are not being paid. Perhaps part reason for what I mentioned in par.5 above.
- The opinion that Niel Meiring left with me is of him being a schemer and a chancer. Definately not a builder.
