Late Completion and Excuses

Christopher was recommended to me by another trades person. He arrived promptly for the initial meeting, made suggestions and gave a quote to install a new kitchen and bathroom. We decided to accept his quote as he appeared to be reliable. Paid 50% deposit to start. He delayed the start date by a week as he was waiting for matching tiles. OK, we wait. He quoted 4 days to complete the job. The kitchen carcasses were installed in the first 2/3 days and the bathroom cleared for new tiles and units. Everything seemed in order. Tiles were installed in the bathroom and I had to point out that they are mismatched. He asked for a progress payment, which I made. So, down come the mismatched tiles - time delay and we are in the 2nd week of a 4 day project. By this time, nothing further had been done to kitchen. Waiting for counter tops and pullout system. Another progress payment to buy the pull out system. I complained, but paid as I need the job done. We are now at the end of the 3rd week, kitchen is still as it was left in week 1 and the bathroom is still unfinished. In this time floor tiles were lifted as no space were allowed between shower and basin unit. An expensive, stressful mess.
