A DEAFENING ($&%#@!!!) experience, with little sympathy from NuMetro staff

On 5 August 2023 two friends and I attended a screening of a film at Nu Metro Hyde Park - in cinema no 3. From the outset the sound was deafening, and in spite of two complaints to the staff, we had to endure audio agony for the entire film.

The projectionist seemed unable to understand the problem. He merely went to the entrance to the cinema and stood just inside the doorway, asked me where we were sitting, and because we were in the front row (in a "luxury" cinema), said that the problem was that we were too near the front. He did reduce the volume slightly, but it was still far too loud - even during periods when the characters were merely holding a conversation.

After the show my friends and I were very angry indeed. We managed to find the manager, and although he was apologetic, we really did not feel that there would be any action.

NuMetro must really train its staff better - and must employ staff who are not deaf.

I have now removed NuMeytro from my list forever, as have both of my companions.
