SABC simply hand over paid TV licence!!
I had a debit order with the SABC Licences for many years but decided to buy one for 2015 so wouldn't have the hassle. Late last year I spoke to the SABC about it paid 90Rand penalty fee and produced my new licence. I hear nothing till I am being inundated by rude Call centre representatives saying I owe 467.00! I keep getting emails which I'm sure is computer generated. However a Ms Buys acknowledged one of my emails on 27th April stating that the statement system was down and that she would get back to me. What has really irritated me is the fact that I am bugged daily now and am accrueing Interest by these debt collectors of no fault of my own. Please help all I want is sort this matter out and find out why the SABC handed me over for a ridiculous amount when I already have a up to date TV Licence.

After the debit order returned a penalty fee was added ,payment of R265.00 was received on the 30/08/2014.
Due to the full amount not been paid more penalties was added ,your renewal for 2015 was added on the 02/02/2015
Leaving you with an outstanding balance of R493.50
