Harassed & Threatened by NuDebt Over Cancelled TV License – Despite Proof of Payment

I’m being harassed by NuDebt Management on behalf of the SABC for a TV license I no longer need or legally owe. I notified the SABC in 2023 that I do not own a TV and submitted written proof along with full settlement of any outstanding fees.

Despite this, I’ve been bombarded by threatening emails and messages from multiple debt collection agencies, now including NuDebt, who keep escalating the amount and threatening blacklisting. I’ve provided my proof of cancellation and payment numerous times, yet the case keeps getting handed over to new collectors who completely ignore the dispute.

This is not only harassment — it’s a serious misuse of personal information and a violation of consumer rights. The SABC and NuDebt continue to disregard proper process, the law, and basic accountability.

I’ve now escalated the matter to the Credit Ombud, the Council for Debt Collectors, the Information Regulator, and relevant authorities.
