West Coast SPCA not acting logical
They euthanize a cat in Bergrivier Municipality because someone complained it poses a nuisance, not a danger but they refuse to euthanize a dog that attack people and other dogs (on three different occasions already) in St Helena Bay. Please explain this!!!!!!!

Thank you for your comment. We would, however, like to clarify the facts surrounding this matter.The individual posting this review was not directly involved in the incident and appears to be commenting on information subsequently published in the Weslander.The cat concerned was a feral stray cat and was brought to the Swartland & West Coast SPCA by Bergrivier Municipality, which was humanely euthanased as per our policy.Our SPCA was not involved in any action at the location from which the cat originated, nor were we aware of any circumstances concerning the cats at that location prior to the animal being brought to us.Municipal Law Enforcement is responsible for the enforcement of the relevant municipal animal by-laws. The Swartland & West Coast SPCA acts as the contracted municipal pound and receives animals brought to us by the relevant authorities.We appreciate that matters involving animals can be emotional, but it is important that any criticism of our organisation is based on the correct facts and on our actual involvement in the matter.Swartland & West Coast SPCA
