Tshwane spca terrible
we have taken our 4 month old puppy with a broken leg to the watloo tshwane spca for assistance as we could not afford the vet and without even attending to the pup or helping they were demanding payment.. we attempted to ask if we could pay the bill off in monthly installments and were still refused... where do we go if the spca is not willing to assist... absolutely terrible service and a major lack or consideration.

08 Jan 2019, 13:39thank you for that, today was the only day i could take the puppy due to work i am extremely disappointed and upset about the situation it is wrong for them to demand the payment upfront not even giving time to make payment. The spca is suppose to be there to help the public.

Any member of the public, who visits the SPCA to see a veterinarian, is queued at Reception. The person’s info is logged on the Vetmaster programme, even if the owner does not have the financial means to pay the bill. None of the hospital staff (veterinarians and AWA’s) spoke or assisted anyone regarding a puppy with a fracture. No information re Mohamedrak Riyaadh Abdul Kader is loaded onto the system for a dog with a broken leg. There is a case of a person who visited the Society early this week, who may fit the profile. He was assisted by Reception staff, and indicated that his dog had a sore leg. After enquiring about the consultation fee (R275), he wanted to contact his friend to try to get hold of money for a consultation. Reception offered three options to him: - Queue the dog for a consultation with one of our veterinarians, who will discuss options with the owner if he does not have money. - Take the dog the VISTA animal clinic, but they would most likely refer him back to the SPCA because they don’t have X-ray facilities. - Take the dog to Temba Animal Clinic (government run, and free services offered). The owner asked for the contact number and directions to the clinic. The person then left the premises with his dog. I trust that you will find the above in order.
