The SPCA killed my cat
The SPCA killed my cat and when I ask what happened I get no answers from the staff He told me it will take him forever to check what happened, if we knew we would have never dropped Kitty at the SPCA thinking he would get a better life that we could not give him

02 Mar 2023, 08:07Dear Siyanda We are so sorry that your experience with our SPCA has been such a negative one. Thank you for taking our call earlier to explain our position. As per our discussion, euthanasia at the SPCA is always an act of compassion. It’s the hardest part of our job but unfortunately necessary in terms of preventing cruelty in all its forms, including but not limited to suffering resulting from the spread of disease or stress related confinement. We are sorry that we couldn’t place Kitty in a loving home. It is something that we are able to do for more than a thousand animals every year but sadly there are still always too many animals in need and too few loving homes. Thank you so much for doing the best you could for Kitty by surrendering her to the SPCA when you realised you were unable to keep her. It was the right thing to do. We hope you accept our invitation to come and visit us soon, we look forward to showing you around and sharing our knowledge on animal welfare principles with you. Kind Regards Belinda
