Terrible service from SPCA Kloof

We had booked our kitten to be spayed in the beginning of August, which was cancelled by the SPCA for whatever reason, but we were not informed of this change.I was very upset, because had I not phoned,I would have ended up driving all the way for nothing. Finally, she had her appointment on 2 September. She was sent home without anything covering her stitches,or a cone.By that same evening, she had removed one of the stitches.I phoned the next morning and was told to bring her in to have her re-stitched. I had to leave work and cancel all my patients for the day to take her back.I got there, they had a quick look at her and said she doesn't need to be restitched, and said I must just get a cone for her, which I did.But it was not even properly put on,and when I arrived home and took her out of her box,she removed the cone without any effort.I tried to put it back several times but she would struggle so much I was scared it would makes things worse.By yesterday afternoon the wound had opened, and was oozing. In an attempt to help her I bought an antibiotic spray.I asked my wife to take her back. They just looked at her,and said I must bring her back on Monday to be re-stitched

Hello kobusoli4,

Following response from Kloof and Highway SPCA:
I am very sad that you claim to have received terrible service from the Kloof and Highway SPCA as I can assure you that our clinic staff and our Vets have done whatever they can to rectify the fact that your kitten has pulled its stitches out. Our funding does not enable our SPCA to have a vet in theatre on a Saturday and that was the reason why the kitten has been re stitched today, our Vet will be formally apologising to you today. Our SPCA always strives to give all animals the very best care whilst at our SPCA and I apologise for any frustration you felt dealing with us.
