SPCA Springfield
Went to SPCA in Springfield this morning with a very sick animal. They have a sign up in the clinic stating should you really not have the funds they will assist. I don't have the funds and yet upon enquiry we were told that unfortunately we have to pay otherwise it will come out of the lady who I spoke to salary. So my question although I understand everything cannot be for free but the SPCA would rather let an animal die before seeing if they can help. Thought SPCA is a safe place but not anymore.

I have fully investigated this incident and offer you my sincere apologies. Our SPCA policy is to never turn an animal away - even if it is humane euthanasia which is offered in order to prevent an animal from suffering. The employee you encountered was here on a short-term basis and (although fully trained) acted against our strict protocols. She is no longer employed by this organisation.
