If there was only a negative number to choose. I took my dog there to get a hernia operation done as she is in great pain. The staff in the hospital side were extremely rude and were harrasing me. Threatening me that they will take my dog away from me, stating that I do not earn enough money to look after my dog! My dog has NEVER gone a day without food, she sleeps on our bed, we take her for walks every day! The harrasment became so bad that I was crying and all of this happened infront of my 6 year old son. They will never see my face ever again, they will never get help from me ever again. I'm extremely embarrassed to say that I did community service for them! It's very sad to see such rude people taken care of those poor animals.! Don't take your animals there!

I have watched our CCTV footage and listened to the telephonic conversation.
At no time were you harassed or assaulted by any SPCA staff, on the contrary my Inspector was threatened and verbally abused telephonically by your boyfriend who eventually apologized for his behaviour.
My Inspector was called to assist our hospital staff when they found out that the dog was a SPCA adopted dog and had been abandoned by the previous owner.
The Inspector explained to you that abandoning an animal is a ******** offence and we would require the previous owners’ details to investigate the case and if necessary, pursue a prosecution. The dog was scanned for the microchip details.
It was explained to you that when an animal is adopted from a SPCA a contract is signed by the adoptee and two of the clauses are that the adoptee will make use of a private veterinarian and should the adoptee no longer be able to care for the pet it would be returned to the SPCA. But as it appeared that you were taking good care of the dog the Inspector said she was sure the relevant SPCA would not have a problem with you adopting the dog. The Inspector said she would contact the relevant SPCA regarding this matter.
You were referred to a private veterinarian as the SPCA hospital can only assist pet owners who qualify under the almoning system.
