SPCA Roodepoort

I am extremely disgusted and disappointed with the SPCA. My doggies were anonymously reported to them, they came three weeks ago while I was not home, called me and said they'll be back, I waited and they didn't call and come back to me after that. Until today. Today yet again they came early in the morning(without informing me), with police(3 vans to be exact) and again it was just my daughters and my 3 year old granddaughter at home. My daughter allowed them in the house to see that my dogs are cared for, fed etc(I buy them food weekly because there's 4 of them, the Jack Russell and puppy slept in the house because they're too small to sleep in the dog houses). The police that were here **** about which police station they were from(told us it was Roodepoort Police station but when we went to Roodepoort Police station the people on duty didn't know anything about this case). These police had no name tags and verbally assaulted my daughter in front of my 3 year old granddaughter in my house, she is still shaken until now. Mr Coetzee who is an inspector as he says proceeded to take a picture of my daughter as well for absolutely not reason, they left my house in a mess and refused to wait for me to get home(I was 3mins away), they left immediately after I said I was coming home.

My other daughter is in a state cause she loved her Jack Russell wholeheartedly (doggy was a gift to her). I would've loved to take this matter further legally but I have no idea where these "cops" that the SPCA brought to my home come from and the Mr Coetzee refuses to speak to me.

Thank you for the trauma you have caused both my daughters and granddaughter SPCA Roodepoort/Krugersdorp.

SPCAs investigate all animal cruelty complaints whether anonymous or not. Inspector Coetzee was at the premises twice before the warrant was executed and contacted the owner on numerous occasions, but the owner was uncooperative, blatantly rude and accused Inspector Coetzee of ******. SPCA Inspectors do not prewarm owners of their arrival at premises to investigate complaints or when executing a warrant as this defeats the object of investigation. If the owner was cooperative and had the dog’s best interest at heart a warrant would not have been necessary. Animal cruelty is taken very seriously, an open wound and severe fly strike is animal cruelty. When a warrant is issued a photo is taken of the person accepting it so there can be no dispute as to its acceptance. The house was in disarray before the warrant was executed. The owner of the dogs stated to Inspector Coetzee that he is a Warrant Officer he should therefore know the process with executing a warrant.  If the owner had been cooperative and showed interest and concern for the animals’ wellbeing the investigation would have been finalised and the animals suffering would have been addressed on the first inspection.
