spca loves putting animals down=******
My mums had 2 dogs that were 12yrs/84yrs in dog years. They only became sick about a month ago,and I had told my mother that come pay day this month I would help them pay for treatment, i sent emails enquiring about prices for consults, bought over the counter products for them. But my neighbours complained only because they thought they had rabies, which they did not have! Because they had their vaccine every year. The inspector came home and gave my mum only 24hrs to take the dog to the vet.I called made an appointment for the dog at the spca in springfield, borrowed a car and hired a driver for the dogs. When my mum took them there, she was rude she screamed and shouted saying only because the neighbours complained you brought this dogs, you'll only had 24hours you'll took 74 hours. She even screamed your'll got no money but you'll want dogs. Your must just put the dogs down, and made my mother sign the papers.I would just like to say how disgusted I am at her behaviour. Before asking,or even speaking properly she judged, screamed and put the dogs down. if the dogs were so badly treated would they have lived for 12yrs.Not everyone was born into luxury like that rude killer vet!
Response from Durban and Coast SPCA
The owner brought the 2 x dogs to our clinic after receiving a warning from Inspector Fermin (Warning *** 3rd July 2015).
One dog had a severe skin condition and the other an anal growth.
We have watched the footage from the consult and Veterinarian Augustyn did not shout and was not rude. She was factual and spelt out that it was unfair to allow the dogs to suffer.
The owner signed a consent form and both dogs were humanely euthanased.
