SPCA Kempton Park - Rude, heartless people.

SPCA Kempton Park services suck. They treat and talk to you if you are a piece of sh*t. Actually they must be happy that some1 wants to adopt a dog because they are overflowing with animals. But then they still have a sh*t attitude. I could of bought a yorkie but i thought let me do the right thing and adopt. But this is how they treat you ag nee man I went to Springs SPCA to adopt a yorky and because i stay in Kempton, Kempton SPCA had to come out and do a house inspection. What a mission. If you phone them to enquire they are so miserable it was a Charmaine and then I spoke to a Cheryl. They speak to you if you are sh*t. This is not the first time that i have this problem with them they are rude. So they needed all kinds of documentation which i gave them. Then it gets to Friday they phoned me and said i must be on standby between 10am and 2.00 pm. Who on earth does not have a daytime job? I said to the lady can she phone me and then i will leave work she said no- I said okay give me your no. then i will phone you and find out where you are? She does not give her number out to any one but rude very rude. So i had to get my husband to do the magic okay well they let him know they are on their way now. So he left work and het got to our complex and he said sorry i see you are here the lady said she waited 10 min?? Okay so they went into our house and check - firstly why is my small yorkie walking so funny (he is 14 years old) and do we take our dogs to the VET I have spend nearly R60 000,00 from Jan till now ...........my husband showed them the tablets, next thing we have stairs she asked wont he fall really we carry our dogs up and down, then they looked at their beds in a funny way. So they left but so rude and unprofessional if you don't want to do the work resign there is a lot of people that needs work and will do it. The SPCA in Springs the most wonderful friendly people that let you feel at home.

I am very annoyed with SPCA Kempton Park i used to take food there and blankets but now i take it to the SPCA in Benoni. Also very friendly and professional.

AND I FEEL SORRY FOR THE POOR DOGGYS AND CATS AND AND AT KEMPTON PARK BECAUSE WITH PEOPLE LIKE THAT REALLY IF THEY ARE SO UNKIND TOWARDS PEOPLE - HOW ARE THEY TOWARDS THE POOR ANIMALS????????????????????DISGUSTING ...........................AND the lady Kyra that has resigned now she was the 1 that was previously so rude.

Dear Linda,  Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns regarding your recent interaction with the Kempton Park SPCA. We sincerely apologise for the negative experience you had any distress it caused you. It is our mission to treat all our visitors and their concerns with respect and professionalism, and we regret that this may not have been reflected during your recent interaction with us.  Unfortunately, without specific dates and persons spoken to, this complaint was difficult to investigate as the management committee.  The staff at the Kempton Park SPCA have noted that they contacted Springs SPCA to request the permission letter from the Body Corporate as this is a prerequisite, eventually this information was received by the Kempton Park SPCA. Please note that home checks are not completed until all the relevant documents are in place.   The Kempton Park SPCA called in the morning to check the availability of yourself for the property check, which is normally done between 10H00 – 14H00 Monday, to Friday.  They stated to you, that investigations of animal cruelty take priority and they would slot you in as the time became available.  The Kempton Park SPCA noted that you did not accept this and wanted the inspector’s personal cell phone number, because you wanted to call the inspector through the day to see where she was.  We do not hand out any personal contact numbers.   The Kempton Park SPCA attempted to accommodate the your family, as they informed you that they would start with you and call you or your husband when we leave the office,  The Kempton Park SPCA observed one old Yorkie that appeared to be walking with some difficulty, upon requesting if the dog had been to the vet, the owner showed us the medication for the pet and we were satisfied.  The property was subsequently approved.  Please know that we are committed to the wellbeing of all animals under our care and take all allegations of unprofessionalism very seriously. We have reviewed the situation internally and found that our staff followed the required procedures, whilst it is unfortunate that this was perceived as unkind, please understand that these measures are in place to protect the animals and ensure that the are going to responsible and caring homes.  We apologise if our communication fell short of your expectations, and we will be providing additional training to our team to improve this area. However, we stand by the need to follow our protocols strictly for the sake of the animals’ welfare.  Sincerely, The Kempton Park SPCA Management Committee.
