Spca durban. Useless and no brains

Hi spca durban. I was on your website and noticed one dog in particular there but I cant be sure. There was a dog who live a road away from me that I used to feed daily. He has a home and always went back there but since a few weeks I haven't seen em and one of dogs on your website looks identical to him and wanted to find out his backstory to be certain and if he is the one then the owners can be notified? SPCA Durban hi I just called. Spoke to Karena. Absolutely useless. Couldn't understand anything. Then tells me the dog is adopted. There is good possibility the dog has a owner.they couldn't give me any info of where he was picked up from or how long ago because of an agreement with the new owner. My thing is.if this one has an owner.wouldnt it make sense to offer the new family another dog. She said the owner needs to report it. This is not an ideal world.the owner could be disabled or a pensioner. Absolutely useless.
The Durban & Coast SPCA is governed by municipal by-laws regarding stray animals that are admitted to the SPCA in terms of a Memorandum of Agreement with eThekwini Municipality. All stray animals are documented, checked for a microchip and given a health check. If the animal is microchipped the owner will immediately be notified that their pet is with us.
We do reference check against the lost reports received from pet owners to check if there are any possible matches. If there is no tag, no matching lost report, no microchip, and we have no way of tracing the owner, the animal is kept for 7 days in the stray pound on behalf of eThekwini Municipality. If the animal is severely injured or unhealthy we will euthanase in the best interest of the animal in our care.
Once the 7-day pound period has passed, the animal becomes the property of the SPCA and if healthy and sociable this animal will be offered up for adoption to a new home. The dog you refer to arrived at the SPCA on 25 August; there was no lost report done by the owner nor a microchip.
It is the responsibility of the pet owner to ensure that if their pet goes missing that they contact local Vets and animal organisations to try and find the missing animal. We encourage owners to visit us personally to check if their animal is at our SPCA. We cannot be held responsible and a stray animal cannot be owner-claimed after the 7-day pound period has expired; it would have to be adopted.
