SPCA DONT WANNA HELP THE NON WORKING PEOPLE
I took my dog to the SPCA because my dog has parvo I told them that I don't work an they had the AUDACITY to tell me that if I cant pay they cant help me an that they will terminate my dog...I am very upset over this because how can they do this. my dog is not really that far sick but she is vomiting up foam an she's a 7 week old puppy...they claim they there to to help if the people don't have money but this is the **** they give me. An they say I have to pay 450-650 consultation only...an where the hell must I get the money if I don't work

We genuinely understand the distress you must be feeling over your dog's health but pet ownership, while rewarding, also comes with responsibilities. This includes vaccination to prevent illnesses like parvo and the financial means to seek veterinary care for pets if they do become ill. Using a welfare service does not exempt any pet owner of this responsibility. We are not a government funded institution and we are reliant on donations from the public to provide our welfare services. We hold ourselves accountable to our donors for the ethical use of donor funds which must include the promotion of responsible ownership by way of owner financial contributions towards a pet’s costs of care. The treatment for parvo can be costly, and while our consultation fees offset some expenses, they only cover a portion of the comprehensive treatment costs. Vaccinations significantly reduce the risk of illnesses like parvo and we make these services accessible and affordable through our hospital and mobile clinics.
