SPCA BRAKPAN Denne Rd, Dont give paper for stray kitten and now say the kitten is missing ******* irregularities
Very bad experience last Sunday I was told I could hand inn a stray kitten, No paperwork was handed to me, the kitten was dropped on the ground but first the worker pressed on her legs with force to try an put her in a cage but then dropped her on the ground. Then I was told the kitten was never found again now that the owner is looking for her they pull up their shoulders and say they dont find her. The yard where the pets are taken inn after hours is so dirty with old wood and old cages on top of one another and its not a safe place to keep animals safe. Its a breading place for rats and pests and snakes. There appear to be cameras but nobody made any efgort to look for the kitten. And why was there no paper work given; irregular ******* procedures going on there. Careless people. Selling of peoples pets possibly.

Thank you for bringing this distressing incident to our attention. We take matters like these very seriously and have thoroughly investigated the situation.
Please note, paperwork is not given to the public when admitting animals, as it is handled internally. However, the staff member on duty should have completed an admission form with you, and this lapse is being addressed directly with the employee concerned.
Regarding the kitten, CCTV footage shows the kitten was placed into a carrier. While attempting to secure it, the distressed kitten forced the lid open, jumped out, scratched a nearby individual, and ran off. We understand how upsetting this is — it was deeply distressing for us as well. Staff immediately began searching and hoped our resident cats might help coax her out. Chasing a scared animal can worsen the situation, but a search was resumed first thing Monday. Sadly, we’ve not yet located her, though efforts continue.
Concerning the yard, we acknowledge it is currently under cleanup. We are working hard to sort and dispose of replaced equipment, while still meeting the daily demands of animal care — it’s a significant undertaking.
We also reached out for the owner’s contact details after the incident but received none. Once she contacted us directly, we informed her of the situation and await her visit.
Every animal matters to us. Your feedback is noted, and we remain committed to doing better.
