SPCA BENONI DOESN'T REALLY CARE
EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTED WITH THE BENONI SPCA. INSPECTOR HAS BEEN OUT, AND ADMITS THIS IS NOT THE FIRST COMPLAINT. THE ARE 4 DOGS, ALL CHAINED, 24 / 7... NEVER RELEASED. THE OWNER SAYS THEY ARE HIS DOGS, AND HE WILL DO AS HE PLEASES. SPCA LEAVES THE DOGS AND THIS IDIOT, TO DO AS HE PLEASES.
THE DOGS BARK INCESSANTLY, AND HALF OUR SUBURB HAS COMPLAINED... BUT NOONE CARES.
WHAT THEY DO CARE ABOUT IS BRAGGING IN THE BENONI CITY TIMES ABOUT THE NEW INSPECTOR... WELL NOT DOING TOO MUCH WORK, IS HE NOW ??

14 Oct 2021, 13:58Dear Mandy. Thank you for your interest in the welfare of the animals on your watch. We take every complaint into consideration much so and we do everything we can to help all animals kept under the custody of man. Please be informed that our Inspectors are guided by the Animal Protection Act in order to help all animals in our country and they can only protect them following the legislation and powers vested in them. However, not neglecting the interests of the community and considering what drives them to have animals in manners they do. We do not always agree with the manners at which animals are kept. In some instances, our inspectors can only go as far as to ensure that the welfare of the animals is met. Even though this may be the case, we still put the safety and health of the animals a first priority. In this instance, animals are put on chains long enough to reach their shelter, food, shade, and water, which are basic necessities needed to maintain the welfare while the owner has builders in their property who has the gate open most of the day. Animals can go outside and get involved in any accident and or attack people who may in turn injure the animals. As the owner also reported that they release the dogs in the evening when they are home from work and when builders went home, our inspectors saw it dim fit that the animals are not in any manner abused or neglected as no welfare concerns were noticed. Our inspectors will do a regular visit at the property to ensure that these animals are not in any way harmed by anyone`s action thereof.
