SPCA ALERTED TO HELP ANIMAL IN DISTRESS
I CALLED THE SPCA @ 17H10 TO ALERT THEM THAT A ALSATIAN CROSS DOG WAS ENDANGERING ITSELF & LOOKED LIKE IT HAD BEEN BURNT DOWN THE ONE SIDE OF IT'S BODY AS IT'S RIBS WERE SHOWING AND THAT THE ANIMAL WAS IN A VERY BAD WAY, ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT THEY CLOSED AT 17H00 AND THAT I CAN CALL A CELL NUMBER FOR ASSISTANCE, *** WHO IN TURN PASSED THE BUCK TO LAW ENFORCEMENT *** AFTER MY REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE WITH THE DOG, I WAS TOLD THAT THE SPCA ARE SUPPOSED TO SEE TO THE ANIMAL AND THAT THEY ARE ONLY ALLOWED TO GO OUT ON A CALL IF THE DOG IS IN A CONFINED SPACE OR ON THE FREEWAY! SO TO MY DISMAY THE WORLD STOPS WORKING AT 17H00 AND THERE IS NO HELP FOR AN ANIMAL IN DISTRESS!!!! BEING SENT FROM PILLAR TO POST AND STILL NO HELP! WHY IS THERE NO IMPORTANT INFORMATION LISTED SO THAT WE ARE ABLE TO HELP THESE POOR ANIMALS! AFTER ALL WE AS HUMANS ARE THE ONES THAT DOMESTICATED THEM!!!!

Please rest assured that we always act in the best interest of the animals and at the time of the report, our controller was of the opinion that Law Enforcement situated in Parow would be best positioned to respond given that the incident was in Parow. We have addressed this incident with all parties concerned and corrective measures have been put in place. We urge you to continue to be the \eyes and the ears\" of the SPCA by reporting animals in distress and sincerely value and appreciate your concerns.
