Racial indifference at kloof spca

I visited Kloof animal SPCA on Saturday 22/08/2020. As usual they had their mini flea market . I saw this tent with used tools . This was manned by a middle-aged white gentleman . I picked a 2 items totalling R90 and proceeded to pay . In front of me were two white patrons . The first one a woman asked for a discount telling the white gentleman who manned the stall can she please have R30 back as she wants to buy a cup of coffee . Her items were below R50 the white gentleman gave her a discount so that her items came to just R20 and she recieved R30 exactly for her coffee. Next another younger white man was in line to pay he also asked for a discount stating he supports the SPCA regularly He was also given a discount . I was next recognising the previous to patrons were given Discounts I also asked for a discount . The white gentleman Manning the stall blatantly and rudely declined . He took a R100 for my R90 goods and jokingly told me he will keep my R10 change as a donation to the SPCA. So I had to subsidise his discounts he offered to the other two white patrons I suppose. Realising I was being treated differently obviously not of the same race I spoke my mind demanded my change and insinuated he was a ****** . Blatant as I observed he then started defending himself speaking a whole lot of rot knowing he was wrong. There is a lot of good volunteers at the kloof Spca who treat us non whites with dignity . But the attitude of the rest of the Kabal is blatant disrespect when dealing with the non whites . They somehow think they own the place. What is good is our the colour of our money not our skin colour . The lady serving at the used furniture displays a arrogant attitude to the non whites I observed her for over 15 minutes while waiting to price an item. She softens up and smiles to the white patrons while non whites are treated differently . ****** I don't know! I wonder why their are no volunteers of colour . The management will most probably defend their actions . But if you want to see volunteers of different colour and everyone being treated as equals visit the Springfield park SPCA there's no ****** behaviour there. I wonder if the kloof Spca has two price list's discounts for the elite , higher for the rest. Volunteers should be screened and should be people orientated treating everyone the same no two rule book practices.

We are very sorry that you felt that you were being treated differently to other shoppers at our SPCA on Saturday, we can assure you that we do not discriminate against anyone. Our staff and volunteers never treat anyone differently as we rely on the support of everyone who visits the Kloof and Highway SPCA as we receive no other funding. We are very sorry that you did not address your concerns with our Manager on Saturday as she was working and this could have been resolved immediately. We hope that you visit the Kloof and Highway again. Kind regardsBarbara
