PUT MY HEALTHY DOGS DOWN. RUDE

I wanted to take my two Boerboel dogs, one male, one female to the vet. i recently moved to the Westrand and called the closest one to myself which was under Roodepoort in Nadine street i spoke to two women which are Nadine and Vicky. i asked if i can could come through and the times they are open. They were terribly rude, they down right refused to assist me with a vaccination for my dogs and rather advised that if the were to help they needed to sterilize the dogs or either put them down, i advised that these are my pets in my yard and they do not wonder outside as Vicky advised that they are strays i asked her how she came to this conclusion as i was calling to bring them for a yearly vacsanation. i am very upset at the fact that you are working at a VET (ANIMAL clinic) But you do not want to help ANIMALS and the solutions and answers that you give are to rather PUT THEM DOWN WHEN THEY ARE NOT SICK. HEALTHY ANIMALS. disgusting. sickening, heartless. i am disappointed and disgusted in both employees/Veterinarians.

After listening to our telephonic recording, it is very clear that you were rude and taunting towards the Hospital receptionist. The contents of your complaint is far from the truth.

The Roodepoort SPCA hospital is primary to assist indigent pet owners. Any animal which receives treatment or vaccinations by the SPCA hospital will be sterilized before going home. That is the Roodepoort SPCA Hospitals policy. We do not believe in making animals healthy, so they are able to then breed, adds to the already overpopulated pet population.  You insisted on having your dogs vaccinated but not sterilized. Lidia attempted to educate you as to why we have this policy in place. You still refused to sterilize your dogs. You were told that we would not be able to help you and you would have to make use of a private veterinarian. Eventually our principal veterinarian took the phone and tried to explain the same policies to you, but you rudely put the phone down whilst she was speaking to you.

At no time did anyone say anything about putting your dogs’ down or that they were strays. We do not have a Nadine working at the Society. Vicky just transferred your call to the hospital. Should you disagree with me please feel free to make an appointment and you are welcome to listen to the recording. Trying to blacken the Roodepoort SPCA name by manipulating a telephonic conversation is so very wrong.
