Hysterectomy at SPCA Roodepoort

Took my two female yorkies to the SPCA in Roodepoort for a hysterectomy. I am really unhappy with the service I received. We paid R2500 for the surgery. Both puppies had to be taken back to another veterinarian after the surgery. One puppy has an infection/irritation on her leg because of the narcotics. The other puppy has a break in her tummy because of the surgery. We now have to take her for another surgery. The veterinarian we took the puppies to after the surgery says that this should not have happened and that its not normal at all.

Good day,
Mrs. Bothma was contacted and asked to bring the two Yorkies into the Roodepoort Krugersdorp SPCA Hospital to be examined so the problems could be assessed.
It was found that the one Yorkie did not have a “hole in its stomach” but due to the operation serum had built up under the skin. When the Yorkie was brought in to the SPCA Hospital the dog’s body had already absorbed the liquid and the lump was gone.
The second Yorkie cross was a very jumpy skittish dog and when the anesthetic was injected into the forearm vein a small amount had gone sub cut causing a bubble, that too is being absorbed by the dog’s body.
None of the Yorkies have suffered any permanent injuries or require any further operations.
The owner of the two Yorkies said her daughter overreacted when she did the post on Hello Peter.
