Horrible treatment by SPCA

I had a horrible experience at Roodepoort SPCA today. Although I understand an in-person booking is required to secure an animal, Anneke confirmed at 8:04am this morning that I am the first person who phoned to adopt a dog. I told her that I am literally sitting in my car on my way from Centurion (60min drive) and that they please could reserve for 60min while im driving! During my travel I phoned another 2 times to be sure multiple individuals were aware of my imminent arrival- I spoke to an African lady (who was Rude) first and then an African male who took down my name and Surname and confirmed he will reserve my name for 60min until I arrive. When I arrived there was a lady busy completing the form who lives in Roodepoort. Anneke then shouted from the corner that I was not first in person! I arrived within the hour!!! The disregard of peoples time and money is shocking. I will never support this SPCA again.

None of our pets are reserved telephonically as you were informed by 3 of my staff members. We work on the “First come first adopt” basis. You were not satisfied with the same reply you received from my second reception ladies, and you became agitated. Your third phone call, my male receptionist gave you the same answer, he did not say he would reserve the dog, not at all. According to my CCTV cameras there was no shouting by any of my reception staff, the cameras do show you making an offensive gesture of raising your middle finger to my reception staff.  Why did you feel you had to resort to ill-mannered behaviour.
