Gideon of the SPCA- a 24 hour inspector
I have just gotten off the phone with the rudest, most unhelpful person called Gideon (as far as I know, he is a 24 hour inspector for the booysens and /or Johannesburg areas.)
I am appalled by his lack of sensitivity and behaviour. He was uninterested in what I had to report and kept mocking me and being condescending by repeating everything I said! How can this behaviour be acceptable?
I have reported this animal cruelty in my area on 2 previous occasions but nothing was done.
Are these people actually concerned about these reports from people of the public or are people like Gideon only concerned about their pay cheque?
I am disgusted by his behaviour, how can he behave that way on the phone, when I am reporting animal abuse!
We don’t need people like Gideon working where he does not belong. We need concerned approachable people to do this kind of work.

Gideon emphatically denies being rude or unhelpful, however first thing in the morning he reported the telephone call to his manager as he was sworn at and verbally abused during the call, which is totally inappropriate and unacceptable, even when emotions run high. With regard to this matter being reported to us twice and nothing being done, the complainant telephonically confirmed it was lodged about two years ago and dealt with. We confirm that the animal complaint has been attended and is being followed up. We trust this will suffice and clarifies the matter.

He was terribly rude and unhelpful on the phone, there is no reason why I would be dishonest about that. To be dishonest, would serve no purpose.
Yes, I have complained previously and nothing was done about it because one of your workers was bribed with cake in order to be quiet, according to my source. I have not confirmed anything on the phone. You are clearly writing nonsense to the save face.
The people who have called me from the SPCA, to ask me what happened, have appeared to be so caring and concerned but they’re actually not. They rather choose to play the blame game, instead of protecting the rights of animals which is what the preamble of the SPCA speaks of.

The SPCA (South Africa) have left a bad taste in my mouth and I am so sad that such politics and bureaucracy exist in your organization.
