Care for animals

Today I was at SPCA Grassy Park and we called at about 9am this morning and lady on the phone gave us bad service just because she heard we from Mitchell's Plain

We were gonna pay the SPCA to collect our Dog that is seriously ill

We waited hours for help and when we eventually got help, the died on the table

This bad service

They don't deserve donations or anything

We love our animals as much as they do and we paid for the *** service

Someone should take this further

I'm gonna report this to Hello Peter

Dear Bradley A
On reviewing your complaint please note the following- to allay any of your concerns that we did not offer anything less than ethical service: Your call was logged at 09:14am on Sunday the 27th January and your dog was admitted to our clinic at 10:30am - you were not left waiting for hours as stated. The AWA who examined your dog Brownie immediately saw that he was suffering from Parvo-Virus - a disease that is fatal and could have been easily prevented with a simple vaccination - which the dog clearly did not have. The dog arrived at our premises already, barely an hour after your call, in a state of collapse and suffering. On diagnosis the only possible option was to humanely euthanise which you consented to on the submission form you signed. The area or ethnicity of anyone calling us for assistance has no bearing on our service levels and we take great offence at such an inflammatory accusation- we responded to your call and your dog was brought to our clinic where we assisted as best any animal clinic could have - in this case Brownie's severe Parvo condition meant he sadly had to be euthanised. Brownie’s fate could have been reversed if his vaccination records were kept updated and medical attention sought at the onset of the parvo virus symptoms rather than waiting till euthanasia was the only option that could be rendered.
Kind Regards
Cape of Good Hope SPCA
