Alberton SPCA is ********* and lazy.
SPCA ********ly seized a dog which I had adopted as a stray for about 3weeks, a neighbor saw the dog and didn’t know that he was a stray a few weeks before and called SPCA, without prior investigation and without me the owner being at home. They then proceeded to euthanise the puppy less than 2 hours later. The inspector who’s name is Sipho then told me there’s nothing I can do about it because it’s too late now and that I should do whatever I want to do. Can you believe it? Didn’t even give the pup a chance to go to the vet. ********* practices at the Alberton SPCA. Lazy to help the dogs recover so they just Euthanised the poor puppy.

29 Apr 2022, 10:58On the 21st of April, the Alberton SPCA received a complaint of a very distressed Pit Bull Terrier who appeared to be very thin and lethargic. The complainant also reported that the dog had no food or water provided. Inspector Letsoalo and Mr Mahlangu attended the complaint on the 22nd of April at approximately 12:30. On their arrival they were greeted by the owner of the property Mrs Eva Thekoame who allowed them entry onto the property to conduct their inspection. They witnessed a male Pit Bull (tan and white) who appeared to have a severe case of mange. This dog was left without veterinary treatment and appeared to be under weight. Inspector Letsoalo asked Mrs Thekoame if she could afford veterinary fees which she proceeded inside her house to phone her son. When she returned outside, she explained to Inspector Letsoalo and Mr Mahlangu that her son was not in the financial position, and she had said her son cannot afford veterinary fees. Inspector Letsoalo and Mr Mahlangu explained to Mrs Thekoame that without providing the animal the required veterinary treatment the animal is suffering unnecessarily, and this would result in contravention of the Animals Protection Act. 71 of 1962, under section 2 (e).
